Quarterbacks: Controversy vs Competition

QB Competition As the Redskins season nears, the fog of who will be the starting quarterback has yet to clear. In the next few weeks, we’ll...

Mock Draft Created By Noah Pesante.

R1 | Kyler Murray, QB : Kyler Murray is the definition of a boom or bust pick, his dual threat ability makes him dangerous every time he drops back. With him fully committing to football, that takes away his biggest concern. He still lacks the size of the standard NFL Quarterback, but the league has transitioned into a RPO/dual threat league far from the pure pocket passers we’re used to. With uncertainty at the QB position, if he’s available at 15, the Redskins should take him and never look back.

R2 | Marquise Brown, WR : Pairing Hollywood Brown with his former college QB would be beneficial to both. The Redskins lack a true threat at WR and Hollywood can run every route, along with the speed to take the top off the defense at any moment. He’s a Tyreek Hill clone and would add a dynamic threat to the Redskins passing game.

R3 | Garrett Bradburry, OL : At 6’3” 300lbs, Garrett Bradburry would be moved to Guard to fill the largest hole on the Redskins offensive line. Being recruited as a TE coming out of high school, he has great open field blocking, which will make him a great asset for screens and the run game. His athleticism is his best trait. Solidifying the interior O-Line would help protect Kyler Murray and improve run blocking for Derrius Guice.

R3 | Rock Ya-Sin, CB : After being listed as 6’3” by Temple, he came in at 5’11 at the Senior Bowl, raising serious concerns. After a good week of practices where he battled it out with Deebo Samuel, Rock Ya-Sin looks to be one of the most underrated corners in this year’s draft  class. He won’t win with straight line speed or great footwork, but what he lacks there he makes up with physicality. In the 3rd round he would help shape up the Redskins DB group who could be moving on from Josh Norman and has little to no depth at the position.
